Dr. Jennifer Hammers is more than a nationally recognized forensic pathologist, she is a passionate educator, speaker, and mentor dedicated to shaping the next generation of death investigators and forensic professionals. Throughout her career, she has blended clinical expertise with an unwavering commitment to education, working with students, professionals, and institutions across the country.

As Division Chief and Professor of Pathology at Duquesne University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Hammers leads with both academic insight and real-world experience. She also teaches in Duquesne’s Forensic Science and Law Master’s Program and serves as a Clinical Instructor for Boston University’s prestigious Master of Science (MS) in Forensic Anthropology Program. At Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, her alma mater, she continues to give back as an Adjunct Clinical Professor in Pathology and Surgery.

Beyond the classroom, Dr. Hammers is a fixture in regional and national training programs. She is a regular faculty member for the Pennsylvania Coroner’s Basic Education Course, where she provides foundational training to coroners and their staff from across the state. Her forensic pathology lectures have become a staple in the Pennsylvania State Police's Basic and Advanced Homicide Investigation Courses, as well as their Cold Case Homicide programs. Through these sessions, she helps law enforcement officers from throughout the United States sharpen their investigative skills and better understand complex patterns of injury and death.

Jennifer Hammers Pathology, LLC is also a proud clinical training site for graduate students from the West Virginia University Pathologists' Assistant Program. Working with the Jennifer Hammers Pathology team, students gain hands-on experience in forensic pathology, learning to approach each case with the thoroughness and care it demands. In addition to her academic and clinical roles, Dr. Hammers is frequently invited to speak at national conferences, including the American Society for Clinical Pathology and the National Association of Medical Examiners, where she has also served as Educational Program Chair. Her presentations span a wide range of topics, from basic forensic topics and pediatric fatalities to advanced autopsy techniques and death certification practices. Audiences praise her ability to make complex forensic concepts engaging, practical, and deeply relevant.
