    Jennifer Hammers, D.O.

    Dr. Hammers began her career at the New York City Medical Examiner’s Office, where she completed specialized training in forensic pathology. She went on to serve as a Medical Examiner in both New York City and Boston, gaining extensive experience in diverse and complex cases. In 2022, she founded Jennifer Hammers Pathology LLC, a private pathology practice based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, with a mission to deliver exceptional pathology services while fostering the next generation of forensic pathologists

    John Delmastro, M.D.

    Dr. Delmastro has dedicated a significant portion of his career to teaching. He has served as a professor of anatomy, physiology and forensic science at institutions such as Seton Hill University, St. Vincent College, and Westmoreland County Community College. Through his teaching, he has had a profound impact on the next generation of healthcare professionals, sharing his knowledge and passion for the intersection of medicine and forensic science.

    Chloe Padasak Moody, DEd, PA(ASCP)

    Chloe’s fascination with pathology and forensics started long before her professional career. Growing up, she was inspired by her father, who wore many hats—paramedic, funeral director, and chief deputy coroner, to name a few. Watching him navigate these roles instilled in her a deep appreciation for the intersection of medicine, death investigation, and emergency response.

    Elizabeth Beam, MHS, PA(ASCP)

    Elizabeth Beam is a certified Pathologists’ Assistant with specialized expertise in both surgical and forensic pathology. She holds a Master of Health Science in Pathologists’ Assistant studies from Loma Linda University and a Bachelor of Science in Integrated Science with a concentration in Allied Health from Saint Vincent College.

    Sarah Boring, BSc, Certified Autopsy Technician

    Sarah Boring is a highly experienced autopsy technician with over 12 years of dedicated service in the field of forensic pathology. A graduate of Carlow University, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology with a Concentration in Human Biology in 2011 and went on to receive her Certification in Autopsy Technology. Sarah brings deep technical expertise, steady professionalism, and a genuine passion for advancing forensic science through hands-on work, education, and mentorship.

    Alana Engleson, BSc

    Since 2012, Alana has assisted on over 2,000 autopsies and played a key role in training and mentoring interns and Pathologist’s Assistant students. She is a welcoming and supportive force that makes everyone who walks through the doors feel accepted and valued.

    Jackie Karwoski, RN, BSN, LNCC

    Jackie has worked closely with Dr. Hammers since 2017 and now performs a variety of duties in her role at JHP including managing the medicolegal consultation division as well as the transcription team, and performing quality assurance (QA) checks on autopsy reports to ensure the highest level of accuracy and thoroughness.

    Stephanie Santiago

    Stephanie brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her role as a Quality Assurance, Control and Improvement Coordinator and Family Liaison at Jennifer Hammers Pathology. In this role, Stephanie conducts quality assurance review and education to the entire JHP team to ensure we adhere to the quality standards we continually strive for. She also provides support to families with empathy and compassion to assist them during an emotional and difficult time. Stephanie has been instrumental at helping to improve the processes for the autopsies performed, driving the JHP team to excel in all areas.

    Emily Clifford, CAPM

    Emily serves as the Administrator for Jennifer Hammers Pathology, assisting with the operational and administrative functions that support this incredible forensic pathology team. Holding degrees in forensic science and health science, Emily has also gained hands-on experience through an internship and autopsy technician training at Cyril H. Wecht Pathology and Associates.

    Dana Bissontz, MS, BSN, RN, CLCP

    Dana holds a Master of Science in Fraud and Forensics from Carlow University, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from LaRoche College, and a Certificate in Forensic Science from Duquesne University’s Cyril H. Wecht Institute. She earned her nursing diploma from Ohio Valley General Hospital School of Nursing.

    Lena Nazarei, DNP, RN

    Lena began her nursing career in critical care, working in an acute step-down unit serving a lower-income, underserved area of Pittsburgh. She later transitioned into hospice and home care, where she sought to expand healthcare access and prevent unnecessary hospitalizations.

    Rachel Rager

    Rachel Rager is an experienced educator and forensic science professional based in Scottdale, Pennsylvania. She holds an Associate of Applied Science degree in Forensic Science from Westmoreland County Community College, where she developed a strong foundation in forensic principles and laboratory techniques. During her academic journey, she had the opportunity to intern with Cyril H. Wecht Pathology and Associates, gaining valuable hands-on experience that deepened her technical expertise and appreciation for forensic investigations.

    Katy Malley

    Katy Malley is a seasoned professional with 25-years of experience in Pathology transcription.

    Priscilla Cruz

    Priscilla Cruz is a longtime member of the Office of Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) of New York, with nearly 15 years of experience dedicated to the Identification Unit. Since her first day, she has loved the work and the unique impact it has on families and the community.

    Mei Jenkins-Andrews

    In June 2025, Mei officially joined Jennifer Hammers Pathology as a Lab Assistant. She supports the day-to-day operations of the autopsy suite and helps ensure cases remain on schedule and well-coordinated. Having completed an internship with the JHP team in 2024, she is an invaluable addition to the team.

    Allyson Grubb, MS

    Allyson Grubb joined Jennifer Hammers Pathology, LLC in 2022 and quickly became the steady hand behind the scenes, the one who keeps the lights on, the bills paid, and the rest of us organized (and sane). With a deep love for spreadsheets, a well-placed Post-it note, and a calm presence that never wavers, Allyson is the quiet engine that powers everything we do.
