Stephanie A. Santiago, BS

With over 15 years of extensive experience in medicolegal death investigation, Stephanie A. Santiago brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her role as a Quality Assurance, Control and  Improvement Coordinator and Family Liaison at Jennifer Hammers Pathology. In this role, Stephanie leads and conducts quality reviews and education for the entire JHP team to ensure we adhere to the quality standards we continually strive for. She also provides support to families with empathy and compassion to assist them during an emotional and difficult time. Stephanie has been instrumental at helping to improve the processes for the autopsies performed, driving the JHP team to excel in all areas.

Stephanie's professional career began at the District Twelve Medical Examiner’s Office in Sarasota, FL, where she served as a Medicolegal Death Investigator. Her journey in the field has been marked by significant leadership roles, including her tenure as the Assistant Director of Forensic Investigations at the Office of Chief Medical Examiner in New York City. In this capacity, Stephanie honed her investigative skills and supervised the Identification and Fingerprint Units, making notable contributions to operational standards and procedures. Stephanie remains a part of NYC OCME as per-diem Criminalist focusing on long-term unidentified decedent casework, demonstrating her unwavering commitment to providing closure and justice in complex cases.

She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Forensics with a concentration in Crime Scene Investigation.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Stephanie finds joy in spending time with her family, exploring new destinations through travel, and appreciating the charm of historic homes.
